Artelis - almost theatre

"Artelis - almost theatre" is a place where nothing happens as expected. Its actors can be seen in unusual roles, and unexpected twists and turns take place non-stop. Each staging is a new, sparkling surprise. Even waitresses and bartenders are semi-actors turning the act of buying drinks into a performance, involving customers.

"Artelis" is a venue for creative and interactive events in Riga. It is not a classical theatre, rather modern eclecticism of artistic forms. "Artelis" actors can play their parts, but also sing, perform pirouettes or high wire stunts like acrobats.

"Artelis" does not have a specific role for anyone. Only two qualities are needed to realize whether one can turn from a dancer into an evening host - courage and talent, because "Artelis" stage is open for experiments.

The audience, sitting at tables and enjoying the performance, can become involved immediately.

In addition to "Artelis" artistic repertory, various musical performances with local and foreign musicians and dance troupes, improvisation sessions, film and open stage nights, etc. are seen as well. Wednesdays are dedicated to traditional jazz evenings.
